A Wish for All Ashleys. A Wish for One Ashley.
WISH GRANTED!!!!!! On January 13, 2010 we "found" our One Ashley. She is an amazing young woman and we are excited to get to know her all over again. To all A Wish for Ashley-ers who put time, effort and prayers into making sure this wish came true, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If nothing else, we hope you remember: all you need is love.

I wish for all Ashleys to know that people make mistakes. However, the character of a person is not revealed by the mistakes he makes, but by how he learns from them.
He wished for one Ashley to know that despite his big mistake, he never stopped loving her.
I need your help to fulfill my Uncle Will's last wish.
I need you to send a link to this website
to any girl you know named Ashley.
My Uncle Will left this earth on June 1, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was an incredible person; he was one of my best friends. He was not perfect; he battled drug addiction for much of his life and, as a result, lost custody of his only daughter, a child born on February 20, 1988 named Ashley Marie McFarland. My family attempted to adopt her but our request was not granted and we, too, lost contact with Ashley.
In the years following, my Uncle triumphed over his addiction and his strength was an inspiration to anyone who met him. He was kind. He was compassionate. He was hilarious. He was the best friend, uncle, brother and dog owner.
Despite what he learned from his big mistake, it always haunted him. In the final days of his life, my Uncle Will had me, his niece closest in age to Ashley, and my mom, his sister who had tried so hard to adopt Ashley, promise that we would find her, make sure she is ok and make sure she knows how much he loved her. We love her so much too.
However, my Uncle Will did not know that I have been independently searching for Ashley for ten years and that I have run out of leads. That is why I am making this appeal to you.

If you think you are the Ashley described here, please contact me, your cousin Audra, at iamashley@awishforashley.com. (Please do not use this email unless you are the One Ashley we are searching for- other emails listed below!)
Thank you for helping me fulfill this wish.

Audra
